I think GW does a really nice job on the orcish aircraft

Best thing about that kit is all the different possible variations:

Angles of the wings and whether/how they are armed.
Placement and angles of the horizontal stabilizers.
Grot gunner or not/Grot gunner enclosed or not.
Enclosed or open cockpit.
Modular (so different) exhaust options.
Airbrakes up or not.

One has the potential to make a few versions of not-quite-radically different aircraft – true to the orky way… you can ensure no two look exactly alike.

Being a greenskin player, I have four of these jets… though IMO the rules greatly favor the Dakkajet as the optimal option over the Blitzer-Bommer or Burna-Bomma.

very nicely done.

I have four of those bad boys, too. I've loved the look of the Ork fightas and bommas since I first saw the Epic minis, and Deff Skwadron, and Bommerz Over Da Sulphur River, plus I still build plastic model kits, so these were an obvious purchase for me.

For the Bommaz the Puppet wars variant makes a real good alternative – for roughly the same price.

Just to bring in even more variety :-)

That said, this particular kit is imho one of the best.

Yeah the dakkajet is the best option but the other two are just so much fun, it would be un-orky not to use them lol. I have three myself, one of each variant, and it's definitely one of my favorite GW models to assemble.

Mardaddy – can you alter the angle of the wings so that they are "flat" (i.e. parallel to the ground)?

I love the Dakkajet but hate the crazy wing angles that seem to prevent landing…

Thanks,

Buy a cheap mig 15 1/48 scale kit…..go nutz!

Mardaddy24 Mar 2014 11:17 p.m. PST

wermacht –

You can arrange it so the wings are straight/flat.

The wing cannons closest to the wing intakes are their own piece, and are modular; you can assemble as shown, reverse them for a different wing angle, or leave off altogether for the "straight" wing option.

Thanks!
