Yes, all three. Cloaked, masked and hooded.

Other than Rebel Minis' Sahadeen and a couple of stray figures I glanced at in a now forgotten website (I wish I could remember), I haven't seen any Scavengers that fit my "cloaked, masked and hooded" requirements. And lots of dynamic poses too.

I just wish someone would make more 15mm cloaked, masked and hooded "scavenger" figures like the "Scav" fella on the LEFT:

Or the cloaked, masked and hooded guy in the CENTER here:

Even this would work:

Am I the only one here wishing for such a thing?

I would buy 15mm figures designed like that. Not only could they represent post-apocalyptic scavengers, but also SciFi nomads, resistance fighters, or possibly armed colonists terraforming a particularly harsh planet, among other uses.

Lfseeney14 Feb 2014 9:29 p.m. PST

Would be quite nice.

Cacique Caribe14 Feb 2014 10:40 p.m. PST

Phew. For a while I thought I was indeed the only one dreaming of such figures!

Dan

Dementation14 Feb 2014 11:41 p.m. PST

Some more of this type of infantry would indeed be nice :)

Mad Mecha Guy14 Feb 2014 11:51 p.m. PST

don't 15mm.co.uk sell something similar in their HOF range.

War Monkey15 Feb 2014 1:01 a.m. PST

Have you looked at Rebel Minis "Sahadeen" forces they have hooded heads, face masks, and goggles

deflatermouse15 Feb 2014 4:19 a.m. PST

Been having a look at the Rebel Minis "Sahadeen". I've been resisting them for a long time but I think with a paint job they could also be used for Artic Ice Station personnel.

No Such Agency15 Feb 2014 7:19 a.m. PST

Sahadeen are about as close as will get IMO… They're not hooded or wearing long coats, but that's not an insurmountable conversion challenge if you're even remotely capable with greenstuff (I think I could do it and for me sculpting is like pulling teeth).

Cyclopeus15 Feb 2014 8:02 a.m. PST

Khurasan has some cold weather guys that have hoods and masks.

picture

They are on the Modern Combat page.

khurasanminiatures15 Feb 2014 11:29 a.m. PST

I'm trying to decide which major new line to release next. I've got about five ready. If it's the cult of andromeda they will include masked and hooded figures, yes. They wear a robe rather than a cloak.

Dementation15 Feb 2014 1:02 p.m. PST

@Khurasan; the cult is very nice, and I'll most likely pick some up, but I think they are a bit more space-opera than the pictures referenced by CC.

That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing some of the space squids as the next release ;)

khurasanminiatures15 Feb 2014 1:16 p.m. PST

Ok I won't release them then. You convinced me. grin

Micropanzer15 Feb 2014 2:03 p.m. PST

I have these guys going out this year sometime -- waiting on a package so I can get mastered molded -- will go in and do weapon mod to get more of a sci-fi feel but will release as is.

McWong7315 Feb 2014 3:40 p.m. PST

Zantin next?
SPAR Tac mech?
You've got so many cool things Jon, anything is a blessing.

Armiesarmy15 Feb 2014 3:54 p.m. PST

Very nice Jason. Coming on a treat!

Cacique Caribe15 Feb 2014 7:31 p.m. PST

Dementation,

Thanks. You are absolutely right. The long-announced Andromeda Cult is not really what is being discussed here.

All the pictures above are of Post Apocalyptic human scavengers. The cloaks, masks and hoods are key to accentuate the extremely hostile environment they are left to live in (on a dying Earth or a different dying world), one of extreme weather:

Tattered garments and rags are a must if they are to really be "scavenger" types, like those of the Rebel Minis' Sahadeen and those of the 28mm Grenadier/Copplestone scavengers (particularly like the second fella from the left in this next link) would be great:

There is also a human head with a gas mask in the cultist sets.

Cacique Caribe15 Feb 2014 10:50 p.m. PST

Where are those heads exactly?

They will sit on the shoulders of the cultists. grin

Hey CC
Have you looked at Rebel Minis "SAS Assault Group" they look like what you maybe looking for, with the right paint job.

Yes that's my thought as well, Should work really well for your needs I would believe.

some of the space squids as the next release </q<

whoa whoa whoa what was this about??

Cacique Caribe16 Feb 2014 8:42 a.m. PST

I think it has something to do with this 2011 "Andromeda Cult" announcement:

One of my customers did an Oblivion style game with the Sahadeen. I'll ask him if I can post the pics..

He used the regular pack and the Warmaidens…

Once mastered I will go in ant do a tattered look conversion and post -- right now they have cloaks with hood I was thinking of doing an other head and adding fur to the edges of cloth for a winter look – doing a beret head with cloak hoods down for a scout squad and will alter o ne weapon to be a special of some sort.

Real question is you want a squad or some one offs that are not uniform in look but rag tag.

Cacique Caribe16 Feb 2014 2:25 p.m. PST

Jason,

My vote would be for the least uniformity possible.

What do the rest of you guys think?

Dan
PS. But keep in mind that lethal radiation, extreme cold and hot temps, plus blinding sandstorms and blizzards call for most of the body to be covered with something … whatever rags and garments each individual can scavenge.

Armiesarmy16 Feb 2014 2:41 p.m. PST

Something like this ?

Don't think of them as professional soldiers with issued equipment that have been driven into the sand or ice desert.

Instead, think of them as regular men and women who have run into caves and canyons to survive and, in the meantime, have scavenged whatever gear, weapons and protective clothing (rags to cover exposed skin, goggles, masks, etc.) that they have been lucky enough to find.

Tusken Raiders! Run, Luke!

Logain17 Feb 2014 1:27 p.m. PST

Dan, these guys from CP might fit with a proper paint job. I've thought about mixing them with my Sahadeen.

Logain,

Are the huge packs cast on?

Dan

Logain17 Feb 2014 5:38 p.m. PST

Not sure, I've been thinking about getting them…but I keep holding out hope for some more Sahadeen packs from Rebel Mike. I thought there was some talk awhile back about some more poses already sculpted.

Heck, I'll even go for troops that look extremely ragged, like they've been completely forgotten, like these:

grommet3719 Apr 2014 9:03 a.m. PST

Dan,

I have a different need for masked figures (I can't paint faces).

My Insurgent/Irregular force consists of Khurasan Antarctic Explorers, Rebel Minis Zombie Hunters and Khurasan Hazmat Troopers. The Antarctic Explorers have a facemask, and the Zombie Hunters/Hazmat Troopers are wearing gasmasks and NBC/MOPP suits.

Like you, I wanted something that would indicate the harsh environment that these "settlers" would be living in, in this case, a near-future Earth, a world of harsh storms, bitter temperatures and barely-breathable atmosphere. As well, the campaign I foresee has more Total War features and less universally agreed-upon conventions and RoE. Best of luck with it. Cheers.

Gunner Dunbar20 Apr 2014 7:26 p.m. PST

I think these from 15mm.co.UK look good for this, especially the first lot.

Okay I could use some desert scavengers and a few of those from 15mm.co.uk can fit the bill, Thanks :D
