In the last couple of years, many manufacturers (Perry, Warlord, Fireforge etc.) have first displayed many of their upcoming plastic sets in Salute convention in London. For example in last Salute Perrys revealed four new sets.

So with eight weeks to go until next Salute, maybe it is again time to engage in some wild speculation about upcoming reveals from different manufacturers.

So what entirely new three-ups would you expect to be shown on various manufacturers stands in Salute 2014?

Dr Mathias Fezian14 Feb 2014 10:43 a.m. PST

Really hard to say. Some of last year's reveals have shown progress and a couple have just been released to market.

Perry will probably show new greens… now that I think upon it I wonder why they showed those continentals the other day, rather than wait until Salute? Maybe they will have something new saved up :)

Fireforge will probably show light Mongol cav. Other than that it seems like quite a lot of new plastic stuff has already been mentioned in the last couple weeks.

Griefbringer14 Feb 2014 10:46 a.m. PST

Perry AWI continentals and Fireforge Mongol light cavalry were already first revealed in the Salute 2013.

I think we will see more greens for the 1450-1500 Perry WOTR Light Cavaly and Men at Arms on Foot sets. These were announced at Salute a year ago but we have seen nothing more.

I hope we will see more of the Victrix 28mm WW1 Infantry project.

Timmo uk14 Feb 2014 10:51 a.m. PST

Perry Napoleonic artillery, French for starters. AWI Germans perhaps. I'm sure they said there would be a specific Union ACW box as well at some point.

Fallschirmjäger for Crete perhaps to extend the use of their WW2 range. May be Americans for operation Torch…

Really I've no idea but I'm going to Salute this year, having not been for a few years, so I'm looking forward to finding out.

I hope to see Warlord Games do some plastic kits for their Arsenal Miniatures range.

Salute is a show, not a convention.

In a spirit of wild speculation, I predict that at least two manufacturers will reveal plans to introduce ski troops of the Mexican Revolution, in campaign and full dress variants.

Griefbringer14 Feb 2014 11:54 a.m. PST

Any guesses for Warlord? I would expect to see something more for their Bolt Action range.

dandandan14 Feb 2014 12:26 p.m. PST

Perries must surely be doing a box of plastic AWI militia…..

Perry Union Infantry in more 'active' poses similar to their Rebel set, Napoleonic Prussian Reserve infantry.

Remember where you heard it first….

Just found out from Renedra that their Desert House will be released at Salute along with an accessories pack and bulk pack.

Salute is a show, not a convention.

I always thought a show was something you went to on Broadway.

I can't see that Jack, the market is already saturated with those figures in all the major scales…. CH.

Plastics are now well established in many periods. I would like to see somebody start new periods.

Modern – I would like to see a multi purpose box of modern militia with lots of head and weapon options to do various African and Middle Eastern forces.

Biblical – I have been expecting somebody to do Biblical armies with plastic Egyption Chariots for a long time but I have not head anything yet.

Ancient Greek & Macedonian – I remember somebody showed greens for Macedonian period Persians at Salute in 2012 – I think it was Warlord. Did anything happen about them?

Glengarry515 Feb 2014 12:51 p.m. PST

I'm surprised no one has yet produced plastics for the 7 Years War.

Indeed, if Salute was a convention, it would called, 'Salutie-con' or some such tut.

Eight weeks til Salute!?! Bleeped text, I'd better get painting!

Still around one month of time to speculate until Salute.

Gripping Beast already announced their next plastic set a few weeks ago, so they might not have anything new to show.

I would expect Perrys to have greens present for 2-3 new sets. After the success of their ACW artillery, perhaps they will next dabble with Napoleonic artillery?

Mick in Switzerland22 Mar 2014 8:53 a.m. PST

As far as I can see, these are the new plastic sets at Salute

TO BUY
Victrix 28mm Unarmoured Hoplites
Victrix 28mm Peltasts
Gripping Beast 28mm Arab Infantry
Perry 28mm ACW Artillery (already available)
Perry 28mm American War of Independence Continental Line (possibly)
Victrix 1/100 Stuka and Typhoon will be available after Salute
Renedra Arab House

GREENS
Possibly more greens will be shown from the Perry WOTR Light Cavalry and Foot Men at Arms Sets.
Possibly news of the Italera & Warlord collaboration on 1/56 vehicles.
Victrix may have more news on their Republican Romans, WW1 Infantry and 1/100 scale aircraft.
I would not be surprised to see greens for Perry 28mm WW2 British and German Infantry in Europe uniforms.
I expect that French Napoleonic Artillery will also be announced.

Does anybody have any other ideas?

Does anybody know what PSC will bring out?

Griefbringer22 Mar 2014 11:15 a.m. PST

Does anybody know what PSC will bring out?

They have announced that they will be releasing Battlegroup Barbarossa in Salute, but have not mentioned anything about models.

That said, I don't think they have any reputation for announcing new things in Salute.

tigrifsgt22 Mar 2014 5:17 p.m. PST

Firefgorge said that they will have their light Mongol cavalry in plastic and possibly their heavy Mongol cavalry in resin.

Steve W23 Mar 2014 4:30 a.m. PST

Agema I think are releasing their plastic Legionaires

Jubilation T Cornpone31 Mar 2014 12:08 a.m. PST

Perry Western Desert Italian infantry.

Griefbringer31 Mar 2014 4:17 a.m. PST

Still 12 days to go until Salute!

Griefbringer14 Apr 2014 1:53 a.m. PST

So did anybody attending the show manage to gather a list of the new stuff?

Perry HYW set has been mentioned already.
