I say Chaps,Looking for some 1/450 scale ships for battles from say 1650 to 1840. Love the scale but dashed hard to find any ships d'y'see? The Pig do a Large range but it's all sloops and schooners and brigs and at the best their "Large warship Square Rigger" seems to be naught larger than a 5th rater. Now any fine fellow of a purser (who has the victualing contacts and honour), being of sound mind and a bold heart, who can copyeth and pasteth me a link to a manufacturer of ships ,(being of 4th rate and greater and the scale of 1/450) shall be dealt an extra pint of rum. Umm. Anyone know who does 1/450th ships other than Pig? |

Another of the old US plastic kit companies did a Constitution in 1/450. I suppose you could always ask Martin to do some more models :) |

Indeed, the Pyro/Lifelike Constitution is about 1/450 but beware – no sails! The Airfix Shannon is about 1/450 also. Here's a look at a lot of the older kits and their scales. |

I'm a few days late here, but Peter Pig's large merchant vessel (the resin one) is actually a reasonably large east Indiaman, potentially 40 guns or so. There's a nicely painted example of it lurking somewhere on the web that's sure to shiver your timbers, if you can find it (I couldn't). |
