… on the rear of light tactical vehicle Humvee.

"The Defense Company of India, Kalyani group showcased a prototype of its ultra-light mobile 105mm field gun Garuda-105 mounted at the rear of a light tactical vehicle Humvee at the Defence Exhibition of India, Defexpo. The Company wants to place itself as a major player in the artillery business as India opens defence procurement to private players.

Since some few years ago, Kalyani Group has been a regular supplier of many important items like the T-72 road wheels, ready-to-fill ammunition shells and wheel rims & axles. A large amount of this equipment is supplied through other OEMs (original equipment manufacturers).

Chairman of Kalyani Group, Baba N Kalyani says, "Currently, it is less than a per cent of our group's turnover but in 10 years, we should be a major artillery house globally. For this, we first need to get a base in India."…"

Not sure, but suspect it is probably good for firing at least one round, though doing so probably voids the vehicle warranty.

For the man who has everything…

Looks like a breakdown truck…I wonder how stable a platform that would be-can't see any outriggers etc, judging by the fixing travel ring on the cab it is traversable tho'…

EDIT- I can see the jacks by the rear wheels now……

I'd be more in favor of having the gun point forwards over the cab. Then you put some outriggers on the back and allow the recoil to travel mostly into the ground, instead of into the shocks and springs of the humvee.

Over the cab tends to blow your windows out, and do unfortunate things to you electrionics

Had my gun blow out more than a few windows over the years, and muzzle blast tipped over an occupied porta potty one time. Not a happy customer. Fortunetly we where paladins so we just SPed and rolled away

LOL – Badger, We parked up next to a portaloo and went for dinner- came back some hours later to release the 'stranded' occupant………..

I've been firing two types of 120 mm howitzers and I suspect they're going to have probelms with recoil and correction of settings, as each shot will be changing the position slightly…
