Looks interesting, but I'm not convinced I really need it. Neat idea, though. |

Nice idea but if you use any expensive brushes, ALWAYS store them bristles down! |

Complete waste of time and bandwidth in my book, buy some figures or paint or brushes instead. Should come in blue alone for the painting bowerbirds. |

Fizzypickles – why bristles down? I've never heard that one before. Have I been doing it wrong all these years? |

If you leave them for any length of time the bristle will start to splay. Also directs any unrinsed pigment and binder down into the ferrel, again aiding splaying of the bristle. It is worth cleaning your brushes at the end of every week anyway, a nice cheap option is baby soap it works as well as aything I have used and at a fraction of the price If you feel you must spend money on a cleaning station this is a better option, spring across the handle is for storing brushes (just jam 'em in) and the seive in the pot allows pigment to settle to the bottom leaving the rinse water above relatively clean. auction regards dave |

Fizzypickles – why bristles down? I've never heard that one before. Have I been doing it wrong all these years? Given that the last thing you do before putting your brush back in your storage jar is wash them out in water, if they are then immediately placed upright in a container, that water is going to run down into the ferrule and eventually rot you bristles. If you have any expensive brushes like series 7's or Raphael's I would suggest storing them bristle down to allow any moisture to escape.

I always thought capillary action would draw the water towards the ferulle no matter what position the brushes are stored at. link "6. Dry the handle and ferrule and stand head up to allow the hair to dry." |

For damp brushes, I run them in brush soap. It seems to take out loose pigment and you can spin them into a nice point for storage. As for water, a large coffecan well filled always works. Change the water before every session. This is Water color 101. Cheap and effective. |
