In conjunction with the opening of the movie today, we released a brief article on Mississippi's Monuments Man, Captain William D. McCain, on our department blog. link Jim P.S. Yes, I am tooting my own horn here. |

I hope it is a good movie; it is a story I don't know anything about. |

All kidding aside, look for it on Book-TV, CSPAN any number probably this weekend, it was a very good lecture on the times and events that took place. |

I saw the movie yesterday, it was a bit of a disappointment, great actors, good set design, but very mediocre dialogue. They had all this high priced talent but did not use it. The film was very unconvincing. |

Yeah, I kinda had the feeling, being a winter release and all. I's see what the Miami Herald writes and govern my movie going accordingly. Fortunately there's a huge Bird Walk at Deering Estate tomorrow and another big hike on Sunday, after I do my exercise walk at Coral Reef park, so I have plenty to keep me fit and busy this weekend anyway. |

I read the book, which was a factual and mildly interesting bureaucratic account of accounting for art treasures during wartime. Then I saw the trailers for the movie that was based on the book, and somehow they tried to turn it into a ripping dramatic yarn and exciting war movie. But I didn't really find any moving drama in the book, so imagine they had to manufacture it for the movie. |

Lego movie got three stars from the Herald. Monuments Men
