This may appear to be an odd proposition, but I am curious if anyone has tried using the Dystopian Wars game engine for quick-play historical naval gaming for the early 20th century? Of course, the VSF elements would need to be removed. |

I always thought the Uncharted Seas rules would work well for ACW ironclad. |

I never thought of using those for ironclads. The rules are now free online. I'll have to look into that as well. Sadly, the Dystopian Wars rules are not free yet. |

Yep, looking at Uncharted Seas as well for ACW and simple historical stuff. Still looking for examples of ships converted from RL to Uncharted Seas. Anyone seen any? |

I have used modified Uncharted Seas for WW2 – I call it "Charted Seas." I borrowed heavily from Axis and Allies Naval for some things (ship data and torpedo rules) and recently scrapped the Uncharted Seas activation system in favor of a X-Wing variation: faster ships move last, more powerful ships fire first. I have played it at 4 or 5 conventions and it has been well received. Duncan Adams |
