Had the photoshoot at my house for the Barbarossa book, and the pleasure of Warwick Kinrade to stay and game for a few days.

Anyway, figured people might like to see a 'before and after' shot of how he does the photos in our books…

What it looks when the picture is taken…

After he works his magic…

Very nice. A lot of photographers don't make use of foreground objects when setting up a shot. I think that it adds a lot of depth to the image when it is used.

Nice photos, I'm looking forward to BG Barbarossa being released.

I have just picked up BGK, so thanks for the insight into the photography.

Great Picture. Shame about the choice of locomotive . I know British Pugs got about everywhere but I would draw the line at Russia!

May have been better to place the loco in the background and closer shots of the Stug. After all that is what we are really interested in :)

I hope I don't come across being too critical as that is not intended .

Can I use the excuse of Lend Lease? ;)

Sadly, I don't have many trains to choose from!

Any idea when BGB will be available ?

PiersBrand07 Feb 2014 7:29 p.m. PST

BGB will be out in April Guthroth!

Tim,

1 – The background sky is photoshopped in. We have a blank white wall in my studio to photo against.

2 – Warwick tends to take two or three photes with different settings in the same position so he can shop them together to get it all in focus if the dialled out f stop can't catch it. I just got an Eos and thats great for getting it all in focus with a long depth of field and long aperture.

3 – Nah we use them as is… thats actually a lo-res image, for the books its alot sharper.
