Another vote for V.I.N.CENT. Lovely design, even with the plasticy look it had. I guess it would be hard to sculpt his voice though. |

I never realised this before now but my sons name is Vincent and I used to work (4&1/2 years)at a place called BoB. Never saw the movie. |

While I too have a special place in my heart for b.o.b and v.I.n.cent, Maximilian would be my choice in a non Hollywood environment |

TNE2300, That Zhodani bot looks a lot like those that Skeletor had:

Shame Dr. Reinhardt (Maximilian Schell) is no longer with us. |

Yep. These
Nylon acorn caps, wingnuts, and miscellanea. |
War Monkey | 05 Feb 2014 7:23 p.m. PST |
Okay those wing nut guys are really cool, I'll have to check those parts out and see how big they are. |
Sargonarhes | 05 Feb 2014 7:58 p.m. PST |
Thumbs up for the wingnuts. But I'd still like to have a Not-Maximilian mini. |
kenohhkc | 06 Feb 2014 10:10 a.m. PST |
wing nuts are super cool. But my favorites are the Oblivion drones. Maybe because I liked how they operated. |

Ok. Here is a Rebel Minis 15mm figure, flanked by the two little guys I want to hover:
As you can see in the next pic, I used stick-on half pearls, flat plastic beads with hole running across (for arms?), two sizes of "pony beads" and a tiny little donut bead for the wire stand to enter at the bottom:
The wire that is holding them in line is about as thick as I will probably need to hold them in the air when based. Not much space in that bottom bead. So, what do you think so far? Thanks, Dan TMP link |
War Monkey | 06 Feb 2014 8:58 p.m. PST |
@CC Nice idea I like them very much as well. |
Cacique Caribe | 06 Feb 2014 9:15 p.m. PST |
Thanks! And it didn't take long to do either. Anyway, if I use the flat numbered bead for the middle, with holes placed up-down, and at a half-pearl to each side, I might be able to come up with something similar to the Oblivion drones. Hmm. Dan |
War Monkey | 06 Feb 2014 9:46 p.m. PST |
I like what you have going there already, like floating R2-D2s, and with the hole for the numbered beads you have a place for mechanical arms, I'm leaning towards the one on the right in your picture |
Cacique Caribe | 16 Feb 2014 10:39 a.m. PST |
War Monkey, Here's another picture I took, this time with two other attempts (the new guys are on the right) using smaller beads:
As you can see, I still need to clean up the two on the right, but I hope you get the idea. They are all extremely easy to make. And all of them use the horizontal hole bead near the top, where the holding wire is in the picture, so I can add arms later. What do you think? Dan TMP link |
War Monkey | 16 Feb 2014 7:05 p.m. PST |
Those are really great, just conceder them pinched :D, I have a lot of service bots ideas in my head for them right now, need a few maintenance bots hover and mobile ones, first thing that comes to mind is a set of tracks like Wall-e |
Cacique Caribe | 16 Feb 2014 8:24 p.m. PST |
Doug, Send me your mailing address and I'll save you the trouble of tracking down each of the separate components. Daniel DOT martinez1 AT sbcglobal DOT net That's a number "1" after my last name, by the way. Dan |

Black Cat Bases makes a couple of Blackhole inspired bots in their 25mm line (they have some 15mm bots as well) that are perfect for Bob and Vincent

Oblivion drones – Their behaviour and the sounds they made, are probably the only time I've seen an alien robot act like an alien robot. Nice and intimidating. |
