I'm starting a 28mm Japanese WW2 project and plan to use a basecoat and dip approach. Any suggestions for a suitable spray paint shade as a basecoat / undercoat would be very helpful. At the moment, it's a toss up between Army Painter desert yellow and Halfords ultra Matt green, but I haven't decided which way to go yet.

Cheers

Jim

I'd use Krylon Khaki spray from WalMart, then heavily drybrush with Vallejo #117 Japan Uniform.

I used Italian Armor yellow spray paint from Battlefront & washed with brown ink.

If you go the dip route the Desert Yellow Army Painter spray works pretty decent. There should be some images of some we did in that style on our website.
