Hello all After a bit of break caused by major life events, I am returning to war gaming. I just wanted to introduce myself to the TMP community. I hope I can contribute positively. I plan on sharing the progress of my projects to keep myself motivated: I have made the decision to switch to 15mm for most new projects as this helps keep cost down and pace up but, like many people, I have piles of unpainted 28mm lead that I plan to paint up. |

Welcome friend. Hopefully those life events were of the positive kind. What periods do you game/collect? |

Thank you. Yes, very positive. The biggest has been becoming a father. My son was born a little over two years ago, so obviously he became priority number 1 in my life. He still is of course, but as he gets older it becomes easier to fit in hobby time. I have missed the hobby over the past two years, but wouldn't change it for anything. I suffer from gamer ADD, so have a lot of projects in various stages: 28mm African wars (Rhodesia and the Congo) 28mm Fantasy Asian (Black Hats Tales of the Dragon Kings and asst samurai) 28mm Zombies 15mm Rhodesian bush war 15mm zombies (but have yet to paint a single figure) 20mm world war II in Europe, although I haven't even looked at those figures in years. And just today I started on some of Black Hats Martian Empires green Martians (individually based for skirmish gaming), and am waiting for delivery of 15mm moderns for Iraq/Afghanistan/War on Terror gaming with Force on Force. What I enjoy the most about the hobby is actually building terrain, so will post some pics of the scratch builds that I am most proud of sometime in the near future. I am planning to do Conan/Hyborian Age in 15mm this year, as well as a small army of red Martians. |

Once a wargamer
.you know the rest. I found having a blog kept me motivated and last year I got 23 completed 28mm Napoleonic units done and some other odds and sods. Go for it. You wont regret it. |

I empathize
I've been away and back to gaming so many times over the past 10 years it's come to feel like a law of nature. I've just recently re-committed myself to getting things on the table (though I'm going the commission route), so I'm in there with you brother. Don't ever give up on it. Welcome back. |

Thanks for the warm welcome. Actually managed to get a few minis painted last night. Can anyone recommend a free, easy to use online image sharing site so that I can start a gallery? |

Best to start a blog on blogger or wordpress. That way you can post pictures, and keep a record of progress for yourself, while making it easy for you to share stuff here. Phil |
