Hi all,

I know from previous threads that questions had been asked about the old range of Polly Oliver 15mm AWI figures coming back into production.

I have quite a few of these figures in my own collection and was very happy to see them on display at PAW 2014 in Plymouth today. I had a very interesting chat with the new owner of the range and was pleased to hear that they are being produced just down the road from me.

If you would like to know more then just follow the link to JJ's where I have posted more information about the range together with some pictures from today's show.

Thank you for the post. Very enjoyable. Kudos to the Winter War and Pearl Harbor terrain makers.

Good news on the Polly Oliver front. I've always wanted to use that range. Will add some units to my already much too large collection (not yet painted) just to have some. Some of the finest AWI figures ever made in my estimation.

Thanks for the heads up.

"although they will not be retailing on line" a direct quote from the blog! Hope the word "not" is a typo. Otherwise you can only get these figures at shows in the UK. If that is the case…

I saw Ealy Morning Writers note above so Emailed Polly Oliver and received this very encouraging prompt response:

Dear Tom,

Many thanks for your email. The figures will be available on line soon, I would be pleased to email you as soon as this option becomes available.

Regards, Polly

Gentlemen,
I seem to have been the cause of a little confusion regarding how the Polly Oliver figure range will be sold. May I first apologise and confirm that the range will, eventually, be available by both post and via the Polly Oliver website with Paypal. The confusion may have begun after a line in the first blog post was taken a little out of context. It refers to the fact that my good friend, Colonel Bill, will be selling my figures at shows as my agent but he will not be selling them for me online; I shall retain that option for my own website. I do hope that this has eased any concern and apologise once again.

I have this evening posted the third blog post, this latest shows some pictures of the original display case figures and…but I am saying too much, you must of course take a look for yourselves. I would, however, ask for any photographs of the Polly Oliver figures that I could add to the website gallery once it becomes available.
Regards, Polly

Will you have a distributer for this side (US/Can) of the pond?

I wish I could access the blog…… I've wanted to paint up some of these figures for years.

Hello,
Mr. Historygamer. I am sorry but there are no plans as yet to have a US distributer. Given the small size of my company the trader discount is prohibative.
Mr. 7th VA Cavalry. I am sorry you have not been able to access the blog, what issues are you having? you can contact me directly at polly@pollyoliver.co.uk and I will see what can be done.

Guilty. Of taking that line out of context. Glad to know they will be available online. But somewhat disappointed in how they will be packaged. Will deal with it. Still plan to order some – which is crazy since I have so many figures already, and they are not painted! I just drooled over these figures for so long I need to have some. The British fusiliers for sure.

How about some character figures and a pack or two of varied period specific unarmed civilian figures, male and female, old and young?

Polly Oliver Castings21 Feb 2014 4:29 a.m. PST

Good morning, Mr. Early Morning Writer. I am pleased that I was able to clarify the situation. I understand that having large amounts of unpainted wargame figures is rather symptomatic of being a wargamer. My Brother boasts that he would be able to stop all the leaks in a church roof with his unpainted collection, although I believe hoard would perhaps better describe it. The Fusilier figures are very nice and you are to be commended on your taste.
I must thank you too for your range extention ideas, the character figures in particular. I will see what can be done.
I have also added a new post to my blog, showing some of the new Polly Oliver flags that will be sold on the website, please take a look.
Regards, Polly

Polly,

The smaller packs with 16 figures – possible to get two added figures to a pack to bring it up to 18? All my foot units are at 18 figures and I don't want to buy 2 packs and have 14 extra figures.

Thanks.

EMW

Should have added that I'm okay with the 24 figure packs – I can handle a few oversize units. But all stands are based in threes, that's why I need the extra two figures if I buy the smaller packs.

Hello Mr. Early Morning Writer, my appologies for not replying sooner. I am sure that something can be arranged and I will discuss this with my Father. Perhaps a specific request could be dealt with as a special order for you. I will always do my best to accomodate a customers requests.
Regards, Polly

Polly,

Will contact off line via email – but not right away. Doing some redesign. Will want the Fusiliers for certain and a bit more just 'cause.

These are very nice looking figures. Good proportions AND plenty of life, and the two don't always come together!

I don't do the AWI myself, but am always on the lookout for 18th century characters and civilians. If you do decide to make some, there is a complete lack of aristocrats /civilians in more formal dress, and they would sell well to Donnybrook and ImagiNation types! Avoid too much buckskin, etc. as it makes the figures more difficult to use outside of North America.
