Privates and NCO's had bayonets with 'troddels in different comoany colours. All very regulated but what kind of sword did officers carry in the field and especially what coulour did their 'troddel' have. I see to have picked up gold hilt and either blackened or steel scabbard and black troddel with silver tassel? Does that sound right? |

Oops! Make that 1914
I shouldn't type at 3 Am in the morning.. Hi Rudi, Yes,no problem for the company colours ( I made them all first btn. 2nd company in white/red/white/red and the MG co. in white/blue/white/blue) but officers seem to have had a different troddel that didn't follow the 'normal' procedure. Most illustrations show -something- silver and dark colour 'schieber' Also the sword itself: Gold hilt and which scabbard? |

Everything clear now Rudi! Thanks very much! And, if at all possible, come back soon to the clubhouse. We do miss you. |
