Hi all,

Does anyone know of companies/individuals providing good moldmaking and casting services in the upper Midwest region in the US (Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, etc…)? Preferably Wisconsin or Minnesota.

This would be for producing a line of 28mm and/or 54mm military ministures in metal.

Also, does anyone know of anywhere in the US that one can obtain good training in the art of making vulcanized rubber molds for this scale of figures? Also casting training.

Thanks!

Thanks for the info everyone.

Does anyone have experience or know anyone that has used any of these services? If so, any recommendations?

Jon: If you are close enough (we are in Portage, WI) for a visit, we can show you the mold making and casting process, hands on even.

The question is where do you live in the Upper midwest? If close to Mpls, then I would check with GHQ, and Randy from C&C is still making molds.

When I started out, I found that working with the Fishing tackle companies really helped. They taught me how to make the molds and let me use their equipment to make the molds when their mold maker was not using the vulcanizer.

I live in Eau Claire, WI (about an hour+ from Mpls and 2.5 hours from Portage).

It would be great to be able to visit these facilities and talk with the folks involved. Thank you Mike from Historifigs for the invitation to visit. I will be contacting you to see when that might work out. Its really exciting to find out there are people so close that are offering these services!

I am sculpting a 28mm line of historical figures right now that I would like to produce and sell, but I have no experience or equipment needed for the moldmaking and casting.

I am also interested in learning how to make molds from the greens if anyone offers training in that as Miniatureships mentioned.

Miniatureships, could I contact you offline and learn more about your experience with that?

Kind regards
