These rules have been out for several months now and played at UK conventions---anyone have a review?

I have heard the big NB set is out in April---anyone else heard that?

I ordered it at Christmas and received a notice from the Publisher indicating it was delayed until March 2014.

Craig Taylor and I designed NBs. I got ill and Craig died. I then sold NBs to Captain which will release them as Napoleon's Battles, Marshal.

Napoleon's Battles, Division was designed by a British group. It won best in show at Colours. Captain is republishing its Captain skirmish game as Napoleon's Battles, Captain.

Their concept is to release 3 sets of rules which have the same mountings for 3 different levels of command. It is my understanding that Captain is working hard to have all 3 available as soon as possible. As many relatively new companies, Captain's desire to publish exceeds its ability to meet its self-imposed deadlines, but eventually, I estimate by late Spring, they will be released.

Cheers,

Bob Coggins

Bob Coggins,

That sounds like an excellent approach on their part.

I quite like the original Capitan game although as that was for individually based 28mm figures I suppose they have to change it a bit.

Best of look to them.

I am looking forward to the 4th version of NB and will be looking at NB Captain as well

I'd read that they hope to have the book/rules ready for launch at Salute.

Divisional Commander actually won Best at Show at SELWG (Crystal Palace) last year. The release of the rules has been postponed so that Capitan can concentrate on the 4th Edition of Napoleon's Battles itself. Bob C has been extremely helpful in progressing this.

The 4th Edition can now be obtained by a crowd funding pledge on link The scheduled shipment date is something like 2 months ahead. How do I know all this? I am part of Southend Wargames Club who are making the terrain for Talavera, the battle that Capitan is using to present NB to the public at "Salute" on Saturday and won the SELWG prize.

Also, I have the agency for Capitan's miniatures arm in the UK (Battle Models Ltd at warmodelling.co.uk).

How flexible is the basing system? My 15mm troops are based 4 to a base in one rank on 40mm wide by 15mm deep bases, will that work provided both sides are based the same?

Brian

This is a little late in coming to you – I had missed the discussion. The short answer to your question is "Yes" as long as both sides are based the same.

I am sure by now that everyone is aware we eventually gave publishing rights for NB to Partizan Press and the "Maréchal" edition is now available from Caliver Books.

Divisional Commander can be obtained from our shop: shop.capitangames.com
