I have gotten some stuff from political signs as well. Odd thing I take them the next day there are more, Aliens, got to be. Lee |

> Odd thing I take them the next day there are more, Careful, messing with political signs is a crime unto itself, I forget the penalty but it is worse then just the normal run of the mill vandalism since it falls under disruption of the election process. After an election you can probably call up each side and they would beg you to take them. |

Check your local laws on things, locally, any sign they place is basically up for grabs post-event and that includes election ones. Also, unfortunately, signs like that at Home Depot and a lot of other places are not easy to get. A lot of them use the "washable" markers for it that they can wipe off and have a bunch of them that can be reused as needed |

I may be the lucky one my local HD don't use "washable" markers and have score a good stack of them :D |

When they place them illegally there is no issue, and they always do. Was a judge for a few elections, both times collected over 30 posted where they were illegal. When I went for a walk, 20 new ones. |

I tend to 'browse' the yellow & green recycle dumpsters for different materials, usually cardboard 'stiffeners' but have found artcore-foamcore sheets in with the paper items. The big green recycle bins most municipalities operate beside the green & yellow sites are work a look too. One visit rewarded me with several sheets of clear acrylic plastic, just remember to watch-out for broken glass in any dumpster but never overlook this potential treasure chest. |
