Just posted pictures of the flags i (mostly) reconstructed, and textured. i could not find all the flags i wanted for the Russian 7th corps commerically, so I've spent many hours(over the last year) cobbling together these in Photoshop.

also explain a bit about the order of battle for the 7th Corps, 2nd Army of the West at Borodino.

Cheers,

Very nice!
How did make the cloth look like silk/wavy?

I wish there was a way I could post my flags to show you what I found so far -they are unfortunately, not separate pictures to upload in your blog but, small pics in a power point file. They are also for 15mm and not as sharp as yours.
I found different flags for the Smolesk, Poltava & Orel (Orlovsky Regt -Kiev garrison).
Not sure which one would be more correct.
I use one similar to your current Orel for the Smolesk which was received prior to 1812 for honors.
Using the Osprey MAA 78 on flags for description key.
Poltava : style "F" for colored Flag
W (Colonel's flag): Corners – Green/Rose C ( colored): cross- green /inner cross white, corners- rose
Orel : style "B" for colored Flag
W: Corners – orange-red(Brownish)/Rose C: cross- orange-red(Brownish)/black, corners- rose

the wavey is a texture overlay in Photoshop. took me months to find/edit/build a good looking one. I've heard vector software is better for it, but I could not figure out how do it on my own, and no one I asked would help.

Standards are always a problem. sometimes standards received were not used until the old ones were captured or wore out. so either of us could be right in these circumstances. it gets even worse when you consider that there are at least 3 different types of flags, and each have several sub variants, that can be issued for honours and such. so we might know when the flags were issues but we don't really know what anyone was actually carrying at any given time.

My research has revealed(from at least 2 sources) that the Orel regiment(and a few other from other divisions in other corps) were newly raised(less than 6 months prior) regiments from depot battalions of other units. when they took the field at Borodino, they supposedly still had the standards they had as the 3rd battalion of whatever regiment they came from(new ones had not yet been issued). which means the battalions likely had different flags. so it's quite possible that we are both correct. I just used the one shown in the hourtouille book(terribly pro-french, but the platesare beautiful and they seem to closely match with my own research)

I don't have the osprey to which you reference. so I have no clue what your poltava flags looks like. I'm not sure what the quality will be though(I'm not much of a powerpoint user for anything other then what i have to)

also, you can save powerpoint files as several image formats by going to save as and using the drop down menu.

and my flag files are generally larger then i need, so that when i print i can resize to my hears content without compromising detail(although I'm sure at something like 1/6th scale they would start to be rather crappy…)

for the record, if anyone wants a flag that is the same style as one of mine, but different colours, let me know. i keep templates of everything with separated layers so i can changes the colours and produce a new Jpeg in a minute or 2. PM me.

I've been on the receiving end of a big "no" before when asking for help in developing the resources, so I try to set a better example (as long as it's not going to take a significant amount of time of course).

Excellent job. May try one printed to 15mm (don't need 2nd Army units) just to see how it come out.

Crucibleorc,
I sent you a PM.
Is there any further interest in discussing flags/transfer finding?

Strange. GMB Designs ( gmbdesigns.com ) has produced well-researched versions of the flags you say are 'missing', for some time now.
