If both sides have the same strength, in other words you are not using historical orbats, then I don't see how you can describe it as a re-fight. A "scenario based on" perhaps, but certainly not a re-fight.

And just because both sides have the same strength doesn't necessarily ensure a fair game, because you haven't taken any terrain or deployment advantages into account.
