Miroslaw has posted his excellent 38t Munitionschlepper conversion for BGK.

With rules now providing options for fielding logistics, recovery, medical, signals and engineering troops, are their other simple conversions to be had with these affordable plastic AFV ranges?

Command and OP tanks are an obvious thought, as are Bergepanzers and now munitionspanzers… What are folks ideas or are there conversions you have done that you can post here?

A gentleman on one of the Rapid Fire Yahoo sites is planning a series of easy to use conversions for PSC vehicles including parts so that spare hulls and such can be utilized. The first picture shows one of his DD Sherman conversions. Then have to scroll down to bottom of the page to see some of the other conversion kits he is working on. He also mentioned he would be doing things like dozer blades and such to add to PSC vehicles.

Love to get my hands on some of those conversion kits!

what scale are you talking about?

Archeopteryx28 Jan 2014 8:16 a.m. PST

I guess either 15mm or 20mm (or even 28mm)as there are a lot of plastics out their these days. Not really a scale specific thread.

shaun from s and s models28 Jan 2014 9:24 a.m. PST

we are making a whole load of 72 (20mm) scale conversions for the various plastic and diecast tanks on the market, some will fit just the armourfast tanks, others should fit all relevant chassis types.
M1 dozer for sherman, m32 arv, cromwell arv, centaur dozer, churchill avre fittings, avre deep wading trunks, avre sbg bridge, to name a few we have finished, we have more to follow including bergpanzer 3, stug3b, valentine bridgelayer, crusader aa's
pics of what we have finished are here:-

these will be released quite soon and be put on the webshop
thanks

The most common AFV conversions are engineering or AA stuff, although of course you can often buy models of all of them too.

Back in the day the lowly Airfix Panzer IV was the basis of many conversions – I did an Ostwind, Wirbelwind, Nashorn (which also involved chopping up a Stug) and two Jagdpanzer IVs. Nowadays you can just buy them all of course.

I did an Opel radio truck recently just for the hell of it, even though you can buy them.

Sean, excellent stuff!

So the big question I have…IS ANYONE DOING THIS FOR 15MM???

Damon.

shaun from s and s models29 Jan 2014 8:32 a.m. PST

i would but i doubt i will have time, although someone did say they were doing similar things for 15mm a while ago.

I modify a lot of 15mm/1:100 kit and particularly like Zvezda's economical and adaptable vehicles …

The latest is actually not much of a conversion … the 251 half track into an ambulance (adding a canvas cover and painting appropriately) …

But the current WIP includes an Opel Blitz being modified into a repair truck and, for the Red Army, a BT bridgelayer … (pics will doubtless follow) …

More on the recent stuff can be found on P.B.Eye-Candy
