I started in 1976, God that was a long time ago; and I'm still playing Pathfinder. I dread to think how much I've spent on D&D material in that time. Halcyon days |

I think I started around 82/83. Seriously some of the best times of my life. I've gone out of my way to try and introduce Blueholme Edition to students so they can relive the fun. |

Same here Ed. TSR was trying to get interest in the rules and ran a game at the local club. Many of the members scoffed but me and a few others played and had a blast because the guy running it was entertaining. That same day all of went to the FLGS and bought our wood grain boxed sets. Still have mine but it was played hard and those old books couldn't take much
It was only a year or so later that I realized the guy running the game was Gary Gygax when I saw him at the Horticultural Hall in Lake Geneva where GenCon started out. |
