So why the curtains don't match the beard? Hair on top are blond/red and what looks like a beard is black. |

It isn't unknown for people to have beards a different colour to their hair. I presume there are different genes or mechanisms involved in head hair and hair gained at puberty, but, it could be artificial. Druzhina Illustrations of Costume & Soldiers |

Yes that's true but black beard and blonde hair would be a very unusual combination. Given he is a warrior we can probably rule out white hair and black beard as a result of the ageing process. I note the ferule on the spear too. |

Your first link above on the 31st looks like warriors with pagan hair cuts. Despite the context. If we could see them closer they could well have tokens of their victims tied in their hair. You're providing an excellent resource Druzhina. |
