I finished painting a rather large fleet of NSL ships last week. Now I just need to get some games of Full Thrust in.

All done at last Tams! well done!

Just watch out for all those FSE missile salvoes!!!!

tkdguy22 Jan 2014 3:21 p.m. PST

Nice job!

That is not a fleet. That is an armada. I too collect starships and play starship combat games. My fleets are intentionally limited fleets to between 15-25 ships due to the space needed to play and time involved. I actually play in fleet scale and try to use fast play rules.

Very nice job maam. Really though how many are on the table at any one time? Im not denigrating your effort. Just curious.

Nice work. That sized fleet is a good size for GOBS, too!

Louie N22 Jan 2014 4:52 p.m. PST

Very nice. An epic fleet indeed.

The fleet tenders add a great deal of character.

Allen57: this way her opponents never know what mix of ships will be in her task force any given game. :)

Nice work. Love the clear stands.

Thanks guys!

@ Herkybird – I will watch out for those!

@ tdkguy – cheers!

@ Allen57 – I've yet to play a game of Full Thrust, but plan to correct that in buckets this year. I'd probably only have a handful at a time on the table (OK, maybe a couple of handfuls given how big some of them are).

@ Parzival – I might have to look into getting GOBS, just for the opportunity to get all the toys out on the table grin

@ Louie – these fleet tenders will pack a fair punch as well as adding character

@ Jamesonsafari – that's the plan – keep them guessing wink
The clear stands are from Litko.

Really handsome, lethal. Excellent!

You actually can play games that large with FT, but I prefer smaller. What can I say, I'm a simple man.

I do suggest you start with a few per commander.

Admirals are grown.

Damn, I wish I could watch the fun!

a big and awesome fleet! bravo

Great fleet – I too have a sizable NSL fleet – although not quite as big as this one (but close, I don't have a CVA or as many fighters but I do have some scout/patrol ships).

I've used them for so many different games – FT, Starmada, Colonial Battlefleet, Squadron Strike and even proxied for other games. I think everyone should have a GZG fleet!

I got my NSL ships in from England yesterday. I am extremely impressed with this armada. : )
These NSL models are gonna take quite a bit of work to clean up and put together. That makes it double impressive to have a fleet this size. Well done!

Gokiburi24 Jan 2014 12:58 a.m. PST

An impressive fleet, good job!

@Tim White,
I'm inclined to agree: A game on every tabletop, and a fleet in every case.

TamsinP24 Jan 2014 12:08 p.m. PST

Thanks guys!

@ Doug – I intend starting out with small fleets as I learn the rules and adding ships as I gain experience.
You might be able to watch. Well, you may get to read about and see pics of the battles if I get my backside in gear to post AARs of them grin

@ Tim – I've got some scouts and more frigates that have just come in, but they won't be painted up for a while. OK, and more capital ships as well :)

@ markmors – some of the bits for the big ships are a bit of a pain to clean up. The launch bay mouths in particular.

Great lookin fleet!!!

Like Doug, I love small fleet ops, but that fleet size gives you plenty of options.

Let the carnage begin!!!!!

tkdguy05 Feb 2014 12:58 p.m. PST

I always preferred the look of the NSL ships to any other fleet.

Good idea starting out smaller then expanding. I've never played a game with that many ships, but maybe someday.

Covert Walrus05 Feb 2014 5:59 p.m. PST

Gorgeous work – I live in fear of ever having to fight against it though! :)

jimklein196605 Feb 2014 10:04 p.m. PST

Excellent! The nsl wss my first choice when the first generation came out. These are really nice

Captain Gideon06 Feb 2014 9:45 a.m. PST

I also think the ships are very good but for me I do prefer the Old Style Full Thrust ships for myself I don't like change.

I mean what was wrong with the Old Style FT minis anyway?

TamsinP07 Feb 2014 5:40 a.m. PST

Thanks guys.

@ BadKarma – it does give plenty of options and there will be carnage grin

@ tdkguy – the NSL are definitely the grittiest, no nonsense, kick-ass looking ships.

@ Covert Walrus – I think you're safe from ever having to fight them, given that I'm in the UK (not to mention being somewhat renowned for awful dice luck)

@ Jim – IIRC they were my first choice as well, but ended up as the third fleet to actually be painted (I did my NAC and FSE intro fleets a couple of months ago).

@ Captain Gideon – horses for courses. The original ships do look great and (I think) had less greeblies. However, I understand these are meant to be ships from a bit later in the Tuffleyverse timeline and probably reflect Jon having gained experience in sculpting them over the years.

Captain Gideon07 Feb 2014 9:39 a.m. PST

TamsinP you may be right but these new designs I really don't care for again this is just my opinion but that's how I feel.

If I was still into Full Thrust I would do my best to get the older models.
