Who asked this joker22 Jan 2014 9:28 a.m. PST

And I thought building paper tanks took patience. That's pretty awesome!

Ummm, no.

John the OFM22 Jan 2014 9:32 a.m. PST

In a word, "no". grin

Dynaman878922 Jan 2014 9:53 a.m. PST

I could maybe get one seat done, well, probably not…

Reminds me of the guy that made all those WWII ships with Matchsticks.

Mehoy Nehoy22 Jan 2014 9:54 a.m. PST

I bet he can't throw it very far though…

NO, neither am I that crazy…

GoGators22 Jan 2014 11:01 a.m. PST

Why? Just…. Why?

Visually impressive. But that doesn't look like much fun.

Tango0122 Jan 2014 11:01 a.m. PST

He needs to get out more.

rct7500122 Jan 2014 1:24 p.m. PST

Reckon it would burn easily

Mardaddy22 Jan 2014 1:48 p.m. PST

Everyone needs a hobby, some are just more impressive than others.

Juramentado22 Jan 2014 2:12 p.m. PST

The landing gear tires were the most impressive – rounded! Say what you want, everyone has a hobby to keep themselves fresh and distracted – this definitely counts as one.

tkdguy22 Jan 2014 2:23 p.m. PST

No, I'm not patient enough to finish such a project. Of course, I'm also too lazy to even consider starting one.

DS615122 Jan 2014 3:36 p.m. PST

You would really need to love passenger jets to do this.
They do nice work, though.

Allen5722 Jan 2014 4:02 p.m. PST

I once built a paper model of Mikasa. In some ways it was a relaxing pastime but it also took a very long time. Making the secondary gun turrets was rather tedious. Just another hobby.

Micman Supporting Member of TMP22 Jan 2014 4:55 p.m. PST

Very impressive. He makes everything work like the real aircraft. all the hatches open with accurate hinges.

tuscaloosa22 Jan 2014 5:48 p.m. PST

And after he's finished, he can just… file it away.

Ba dump.

cavcrazy22 Jan 2014 6:10 p.m. PST

Amazing

Jeigheff22 Jan 2014 6:34 p.m. PST

No, but I can still admire those who are and who can produce these kind of models.

zoneofcontrol22 Jan 2014 6:40 p.m. PST

I wonder if he will make them available commercially in different scales. And I wonder what the wait time would be.

Frederick Supporting Member of TMP22 Jan 2014 7:28 p.m. PST

Someone has a lot of time on their hand

Flatland Hillbilly22 Jan 2014 7:32 p.m. PST

Top drawer work I say :-)

Sergeant Paper22 Jan 2014 7:37 p.m. PST

There's a Polish model of a nuclear reactor that has something in excess of 3000 parts, and some others that have similarly gigiantic part counts… not the sort of thing I want to build.

Forager22 Jan 2014 10:41 p.m. PST

Egads!! I could feel my sanity starting to slip away just from looking at the pictures! :-) So, not for me, but very impressive nevertheless.

lynchie23 Jan 2014 10:45 a.m. PST

Oh man. I was complaining about the number of folds for my cardstock Chickenhawk build to my buddy 2 weeks ago.

This is just fantastic.

Howler23 Jan 2014 11:18 a.m. PST

No. Not even close.

War Monkey23 Jan 2014 12:42 p.m. PST

Nope

Smokey Roan23 Jan 2014 5:54 p.m. PST

I had to build two 1:35 scale "Orcas" from "Jaws" back in the day, from scratch.

I can do it, if the price is right or my enthusiasm for the subject is huge.

:)

However, my 28mm radio controlled Nile Paddle Steamer (for Khartoum gaming, AND radio control fun on the lake) is still in the bulkhead and planking stage, for the last three years. :O

Lou from BSM23 Jan 2014 8:02 p.m. PST

This guy needs to meet a woman…

wait a second…your brother-in-law??? So he has met a woman, and still chooses to spend his time doing this?

I have no words…

Rabbit324 Jan 2014 5:59 a.m. PST

I have a 1/144 scale paper Zeppelin model that I downloaded from a website that I really would like to start building sometime.

As for this, no I doubt I would ever manage it.

Fizzypickles13 Feb 2014 6:07 a.m. PST

This would be a form of torture for me.

tuscaloosa13 Feb 2014 9:17 a.m. PST

His brother in law shared the article with him, didn't do it himself.

Fortunately.

Ethanjt2113 Feb 2014 11:09 a.m. PST

First off

This guy needs to meet a woman…

Pretty uncalled for, who are you to cast judgement on what this guy does for a hobby? Don't be jealous because it's beyond your skill level.

No, but I can still admire those who are and who can produce these kind of models.

That's exactly on point, sir. I agree.

And to the matter at hand. Very impressive and my first thought was I'd love to play Disposable Heroes: Point Blank in it with a Counter Terror Team vs some Terrorists. Can you say "Mile High Club" from Call of Duty 4? Amazing.

Lion in the Stars13 Feb 2014 11:41 a.m. PST

The scale of the bird would make it great to use as your gaming table, though you'd need to use the smallest possible bases.

Fred Cartwright18 Feb 2014 6:15 a.m. PST

Could do with a bit more leg room in coach class! :-)
