This game saw a different three part game. There was a small force of Ariadna troops, a paracommando and an elite and rare, hacker, in the center of the table. They were trying to get off the short board edges.

The Yu Jing and Haqqislam forces, were along the long board edges and their job was to get models off the enemy table edge to see what was brewing beyond the horizons, so to speak.

Each of the two main forces had 200 pts.

The first thing the Haqqislam player did was send forward the ever present Muttawii to eliminate the Ariadna forces, which they did with only the loss of half their number.

Next they used the Jannissaries on their left to block any Yu Jing advance while moving the faster Ghulam infantry up the right side.

Yu Jing only started with a small force on the table but it included a Hac Tao with a HMG so they were not unfit for the match up as it turned out.

Also there were two Tiger soldiers in reserve, ready to drop in where and when needed.

Here is the Hac Tao, camouflaged, advancing with a Zhanshi in support.

A tiger soldier dropped in on the right to slow down the Ghulam while the Hac Tao advanced against two Jannisaries and two Gulam on the left.

After a couple rounds of exchanging fire the Hac Tao had killed one Ghulam and wounded both of the Jannissaries.

The latter decided to retreat but in their headlong flight ended up in the open. The Hac Tao now took advantage of their panic and gunned them both down. The Tuareg even decided to take a pot shot at the Hac Tao but his return fire made her dive for cover.

At this point the Yu Jing forces could have just walked the Hac Tao off the board and won as the Haqqislam forces didn't have enough points, even if they got everything off the table, to compete with that.

However they didn't want any knowledge of their goings-on so they dropped in their remaining Tiger soldier with his flame thrower.

All of the remaining Ghulam, there were 5 of them, were in a single clump of trees and the flame thrower hit them all.

Their response fire killed the Tiger soldier but three of them died in the conflagration. It was a crushing victory for the Yu Jing forces.

Another great report grin

It sounds like the Hac Tao model is pretty tough, almost unbalanced if he was able to take on four other models. I've heard that this game doesn't have stuff like that.

Was it a fluke or is that model that tough?

The model is pretty tough, but not outrageously so. My question has always been how the HMG armed model is cheaper than the multi-rifle armed model.

In this situation he was at close range in cover against opponents that had cover but not TO camo so it worked pretty well in his favour.
