Fantastic AAR and conclusions!
for NaW
I do not understand the pt system with both sides being even and one side gets to be in defense. Such scenario's should have an adjustment build in to give the attack a fighting chance, don't you think? Up against a good foe, how lucky would have had to be in order to have taken just one objective? It would be interesting to know, if it could be calculated.
To me the only fair thing for equal pts/forces would be meeting engagement and an object centered. AS a GM that is how I would layout the game or give the attack earlier reinforcements or larger pt total. Your game basically ended a turn or so after he received his and you did not. So the fighting was possibly mute ( ie the game was determined by roll for reinforcements) I understand this is to create "friction of war" but it seems the system is falling short of meeting that as good play?!

I have only played twice. Relying on dice luck doesn't settle with me for a good set of rules. I need to play more NaW before I make my finial conclusions but what I am seeing is not going in a good direction for rules I will center my troops for. Have you ever played Carnage and Glory for a level of play as your scenario in the AAR? What are your thoughts as a comparison?

I am losing faith in NaW with time….
