Finally it has moved out of the interminable category of "in the factory"! While FFG warns that "on the boat" can generally take about four to six weeks, it seems like it's moved along a little quicker than that, the last few times I stalked a product from the cradle to the hobby store. Proceed to start holding your breath

Was in my FLGS on Saturday and was told they had them on order, and I had right of first refusal. Clever man— he'll get a sale out of that. (Actually, he wound up with two sales, as I picked up a lone Y-wing re-release while I was there
) Also on the way is the new Rebel Transport (which looks like it also includes an X-wing escort— interesting little bonus, as that implies more X-wing pilot cards
) Unfortunately, he couldn't give me a date for when either set would be in— its as much "who knows?" for him as it is for us. By the way, Miniature Market (miniaturemarket.com) lists both sets as being "pre-order," but also indicates a "Quantity in Stock" for each of 20+. Not sure what that means

CoolStuffInc has been advertising the Transport as "February 2014", and I've never heard any date anywhere else. I like to think May the Fourth might be a magic number (they announced the transport then last year), but that's only my own hopeful thinking. FFG doesn't report it even in their Upcoming column. MiniatureMarket's pre-order / in stock notice is explained away somewhere as "well, when we DO get them in, we'll have ordered at least this many

GenCon last year, FFG showed the new X-Wing as Jek Porkins. |
