This is on Netflix now. I am watching it at the moment. I am not sure of the accuracy since I don't know much about the maximillian war. I was looking for books on Amazon, but couldn't find a single one. Any suggestions?

The captions make it seem a bit hokey.

It could be good, it might not. The actual battle saw Mexicans holding fortified convents against French attacks.

Meanwhile I spotted the trailer for an upcoming Australian WWI flick YouTube link

To historians this conflict is 'the Mexican Adventure' or 'the French Intervention in Mexico'. There's no such conflict as 'the Maximillian War', a spurious title applied only by wargamers. Maximillian is a name, not an adjective like Brazillian.

Now that I've got that off my chest, I'll return to my book about 'the Hitler War'.
