Very nice. May I ask what boxes of figures you used? I'm looking at (eventually) doing a Carthaginian army for Commands and Colors Ancients but have been stalled by my ignorance of what will work (plus the mound of unpainted Persians). thanks kindly Bob |

Hat Industrie makes a pretty comprehensive Carthaginian selection in 1/72. |

Yes, 79thPA, I used exactly those HAT boxes. -Cartaginian African infantry link -Numidian elephans link -numidian cavalry link -Cartaginian cavalry link HAT ancients miniatures are absolutely marvellous
not the fanciest miniatures, but the boxes seem to be basically made from the the DBA army list

That is a great looking army and very effective paint schemes . I have used quite a bit of the Zvezda and HaT Carthaginians mixed in my army for Command and Colours, although I ended up putting howdahs on my elephants , it just looked too cool not to do . Hat have just released the Veteran Infantry also which are great figures , much needed for some extra punch. cheers Tom |

Thanks--very helpful! Now to get some Persians done to justify the purchases. |

Great paint job. A lovely looking DBA army. Bob in Edmonton – I started Rome and Carthage armies for C&C intending to use 4 stands of figures for each unit – but it just got too much in terms of painting!I'm recycling the figures into DBA armies, as above. I don't think I can last the course of very big projects. Le Bovin has the right idea in terms of speed and variety. |

Thanks for relating your experience. I'm looking at four figures per hunt and have finished the Romans and most of the Germans from the second expansion (just need some chariots and a few bases of cavalry) so I am hopeful the Carthage won't be too much trouble! Winters are long in Canada! |

Apologies for unintended thread hijack I'll be playing a large C&C Punic Wars game using my 1/72s in early February ,about 24 units a side. Watch this space for some pics and a AAR around the 20-2-14. cheers Tom |
