The BA French Command group pack has an officer (Lt.) and four enlisted men. Okay. The rules say an officer may be accompanied by from 0-2 others. Why does a platoon commander have four men when the organization list says 0-2. What am I missing?

Could it be because the figures are not sold in unit packs in the way that FOW stuff is sold?

It may be a blister from before there was a Bolt Action game. Or it might include figs that you buy separately in the army list, like medics and forward observers.

Surely it's good to get more minis than 'just' the right amount? It's probably to give you some variation and choice, or more likely they decided on the pack contents separately to how the rules in the game would limit or allow X amount of guys with the CO.

The fact is tha the rule does not match the history in some aspects, nor the BA packs do.

The historical french command group was made of 5 men: an officer, an NCO, usually a "sergent chef", called "S-O-A" for "sous-officier adjoint", one corporal in charge of the platoon's grenade launchers known as "caporal VB" from the name of the grenade discharger, and two runners with carbines.

Each one of the three squads had one grenade launching rifle ("grenadiers VB") and all three were sometime converged under the "caporal VB" in order to form a small support element for which the rules do not offer any option ….
Beside of considering it as a five-shots-weapon/light motar-team may be ??

Actually there is a gap to fill in the rules.

Also, eagerly waiting for new french figures including the missing forward artillery observer and 60mm mortar and some motor infantry to crew the Unic halftrack … BA, help please!
