This short and engaging book should be read by anyone who wants to write more realistic rules regarding the most important element in any battle--human behavior. A fundamental work published after the author's death in the Franco-Prussian War, it is the predecessor of related works by Marshall, Keegan, etc. From Ancients through at least Napoleonics this book challenges--accurately--many long established myths made the more believable via popular rules written by people who never read it. Highest recommendation, and free is a hard price to beat! TVAG |
