I have to give a hand to Bill and Kings Mountain Miniatures. Not only did him come through with a quick turn around on a custom order, but he gave me the opportunity to pick up some of his new Over the Mountain Men miniatures. Hard to say no to quality miniatures to feed my addiction.

The quality is top notch as are highlanders. I was honestly hard pressed to find a mold line. The figures are a bit larger than the highlander range, but they fit perfectly with Perry.

There are some pretty iconic stances such as the officer with sword and pistol. Dont see too many of these. The frontiers mans with the hatchet is pretty cool. Most of the figures have hatchets.

The interchangeable heads are great addition. I look forward to the possibilty of creating some unique units in the future. Will see how well they work with Perry plastics. Really can customize these guys for different regions or even for the FIW.

A tip on the heads is to try a couple different heads per body. some fit more ideal than others. Also important to take into account the action being performed by the miniature. I picked up some heads with Davy Crockett hats to make a group of Tennessee rifles.

Can check out some of the miniatures on Giles's blog…

Just need to add these guys to the paint queue and move them near the top. Hopefully, have some up on my blog in a few weeks.

Cheers
Scott

I appreciate the comment Giles. The models are very crisp to paint and with the custom heads we can get a good number of alternatives.

Looks like you had a had a roller coaster holiday. NZ is one on the top of my list of places to go. I have a few more places in Europe to visit when I move to Italy this year and then I can turn my attention to the Pacific.

Looking forward to seeing your work as we see all these AWI releases this year.
