We're very, very excited to be able to share with you these pictures of the first "green" to have been sculpted for Across the Dead Earth, pictured below. This figure is Crimson, a deadly mercenary, who will be cast in white metal in 28mm and is the first in (hopefully) a long line of miniatures from Dead Earth Games. Designed for our Post-Apocalyptic skirmish wargame: Across the Dead Earth, this beautifully sculpted miniature would grace any PA/near-future/sci-fi and modern warfare tabletop. Currently plans are for Crimson to be a Kickstarter exclusive or timed exclusive. You can find out more about Across the Dead Earth and the Kickstarter project at our website deadearth.co.uk
Sculpted by Andrew May. "Crimson is a woman you can trust to the ends of the Earth, so long as it's you who's paying her. If it's not, keep a wide birth, not that that'll necessarily do you a great deal of good given that she could hit the pimple off the end of your nose from 500 yards away with that sniper rifle of hers. Nobody knows a lot about where Crimson came from, she doesn't let anyone get close enough, in any sense of the word – and if you think she's trying to get close to you be careful for a knife in your back. A lot of men have made that mistake, so don't ever go thinking that because she smiled at you your some kind of exception. Crimson only cares about herself and the next haul of loot. Oh, and maybe her precious rifle, I swear I've heard her whisper to that thing

She is definitely holding that weapon in an odd fashion. |
Adm Richie | 16 Jan 2014 3:23 p.m. PST |
It's a much odder way to hold a guitar. |
Adm Richie | 16 Jan 2014 3:35 p.m. PST |
In a world where weaponry is scavenged, perhaps she is making use of something which was never designed for someone of her size and stature! Perhaps she has adapted a different style of firing. |

I see confusion in the future. You do know that Bronze Age Miniatures has had a "Dead Earth" range for years? |
Adm Richie | 16 Jan 2014 3:59 p.m. PST |
No, I wasn't aware of that
I previously posted that I couldn't see reference to them on the website but have since located them – hadn't looked in every category
Hopefully there should not be any confusion as the two ranges are clearly very different in terms of design and use, and ours are designed for the game Across the Dead Earth. It's a fairly generic phrase, as there must be many of in wargaming miniatures. Thanks for the information and the tip, I'll definitely keep an eye open for any confusion. |

A nice sculpt, sir. A female spell singer. She uses the power-up button, and power setting buttons to make clickity sounds to accompany her soft and low singing prior to the spell casting. |

If you look at it
the sight seems way to forward to be of use. That's a concept from Col Cooper's 'Scout Rifle'. You use a relatively low-power scope with a long eye relief and both eyes open. Yes, it does take a special scope. I used a 2-6x32 pistol scope for my (real) rifle, which works OK. I should really mount it farther forward, but it's as far forward as I can get it with the current setup. Important detail: The way she's holding the rifle, it needs to have a sling over her shoulder! I have a different point: she seems to have a very high hairline, or a bald spot on her right temple. She needs another curl of hair right there, but I can probably fix that myself. |

Be aware there is a role playing game out there called: deadEarth. Also I have my own unpublished one called Dead Earth Saga. I don't have to keep the name but there are some beta copies floating around on the web. Mugwump/Keith Bruce Vaughn It is a nice mini though. |

I like this figure! The gun does seem a little clunky but certainly better than I can sculpt. I particularly like the hair! |

Thanks for the input and comments everyone. Keith – Thanks for the information, I will PM you on this! Lion in the Stars – thanks for your input on the rifle. Regards the hair – you're right, but this is deliberate, the character has an undercut (shaved sides) and the sculptor has replicated this from the concept art. This is, of course, impossible to tell in an unpainted miniature. Of course, should you prefer, you could indeed add another lock to give a different look. |

If the gun in the game functioned in exactly the same way as the gun in the real world, it should have a range of somewhere around 5 yards, so maybe that's why her's only fires about 2 feet. ;-) I'm not going to argue with her about it. She's mean. Really glad you like the fig and thanks again for your input over on the site. |

I really like the fig. She has lots of good features that will be awesome to paint! |

Adm Richie, shoot the email over to keithbvaughn@yahoo.com and put Dead Earth Saga in the Subject Line. Mugwump |

Thanks, Mugwump, message sent. In other news, we have another new sculpt to show you all! This is Reggie, the youngest and newest member of The Family (1 of the two Gangs detailed in the rules which will form the two starter Gangs)

The first fig is really nice. The face reminds me of Paris Hilton though!! |
Adm Richie | 22 Jan 2014 10:20 a.m. PST |
I have no idea if that will appeal or not! I guess she can be painted to resemble or NOT resemble Paris! In other news: Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's Fatboy! [img width=800 height=1066]http://www.deadearth.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/fatbboy-e1390398719403.jpeg This is the last of our pre-Kickstarter models, so remember, if you want to see more miniatures for Across the Dead Earth from Andrew, be ready to pledge when the Kickstarter launches! This should be in March, follow our progress either at deadearth.co.uk or on our facebook page link |

Love these! Sorry if you already mentioned it, but is that supersculpey firm? or, some type of 'grey stuff'? ;) All of the sculpts are great. The last guy with the rpg is the best! |

It's "Uro" polymer clay. Andrew described it as similar to Fimo. |
