Looking for a few figures to convert for a siege skirmish scenario of British Rifles and Light Infantry protecting sappers digging an advance trench in the Peninsula. Their working dress was a shell jacket and a leather cap like the figure on the right. Failing that I could convert British artillerymen and replace their equipment with picks and shovels. |

Sounds like you've got some work converting ahead of you. Recommend you pick up a box of the Armies in Plastic British line artillerymen and a box of their British Rifles. Good "raw material" for conversions, while relatively inexpensive. The plastic is soft, cuts easily with a craft knife, and holds paint relatively well when washed and primed. Use the heads from the Rifle figures (stovepipe shako or forage cap) on the torso of a line artilleryman. Two-part epoxy does the job very well, especially if you drill out holes for a length of brass rod (pin) to join the two. Sounds like an interesting project. Please keep us posted on your progress! |
