I have noticed that most of my Artizan Dopplesoldner claymores' blades have cracked or completely broken off at the hilt. Has anyone else had this problem? Very annoying as it's going to be a pain to drill out and somehow attach flat blade…

Thats bad :-(

Mine are all fine – perhaps they used a different (more brittle?) metal for casting your batch. You could contact them and detail the problem – if its the metal, they will want to hear about it and probably replace them.

I bought mine from Brigade Games in New Jersey last year and just yesterday opened them. I'd say its a little late to ask for an exchange… I've already drilled out several. Ill shoot Artizan an email directly and let them know I had this problem. Thanks for your response.

That at least gives you the opportunity to replace the rather thick metal blades (no other way to cast them) with more fitting plastic blades from other sets, or self-cuts from metal or plastic scrap.

I sometimes cut weapons off deliberately to put in a more ergonomically possible blade instead – for my historical armies I despise the "big is better" philosophy that rules some producers. Good luck with the project!
