The Gentlemen Wargamers met last Saturday for our customary January slugfest, which this time involved a micro-campaign of Davout's breakout from Ratisbon in 1809. Oddly enough, it resulted in a battle almost exactly where Teugen-Hausen took place.

Great looking game!

What game was the map from?

I believe that was a portion of the Western map section from Kevin Zucker's "1809: Napoleon's Danube Campaign".

Very nice report. I particularly like the wide shots of the battlefield with the text boxes around the divisions, major units and significant terrain. It makes it so much easier to follow the action. The very large photos with text at the bottom is ideal.

Well done and thanks for sharing your AAR.

Sweet!

I had done a very similar mini campaign as this.
Had the troops starting on the campaign maps for the day before's march. Let them determine where they were to go and when they left with some scenario rules plus dice throws. By Covering most of the area with my table top ( 6'x15' at 1' = 100 yds). I assured they would meet some where on the table ( either both just off, one on/other off, etc.
The troops march much to the same places as yours did here:

The exception was French player rolled much better on his march the day before so the French met their historical counter parts location plus some and the Austrian were a bit slower. This resulted in the III korps Austrian hitting just south of OberSaal in their flank march more west. Very interesting thing was the I RES Korps ended up right smack at Teugen just as historically the III Korps had on that April day. The Austrians had done quite well with the IV Korps in close support of the III's Push through OberSaal.

Pardon me if I missed this, but:

1) what rules are you using, and
2) what scale are the minis?

That was all in the intro paragraph to the set (near the top, where it says "See More").

"10mm figures from Old Glory, GHQ and Bend Sinister, by Elliott James. Terrain also by Elliott, with the exception of the cardstock buildings which are mine. Rules were Napoleonic Command 2nd Edition."
