Here's a few shots of a playtest game I ran at our local club this weekend. Ships are fired by Flicking a 20 sided dice off the turrets at enemy ships. If it hits, count the pips on the die for damage done and subtract it from the ship's hull points.
Kids are doing math and they don't even realize it!

The wooden ships are hand made by yours truly. The planes I laser cut. All is hand painted.

That is a genius way to get kids to play wargames and do maths at the same time.

I still haven't done anything on this, but I feel a trip to AC Moore coming on.

That, sir, is freaking awesome! I love the 'to hit' and 'damage' single die roll mechanic.

Thanks gents! I owe it all to Gary Gygax or who ever designed the D20, and to my dad who taught me to play craps at an early age- his way to win back my allowance- Lol!

Carmen- your games are MY inspiration!
Nnascati- what is AC Moore? tell me more!

Clif- you will get your chance to play at the upcoming Kublacon and Sac Con!
Cheers all

AC Moore is an Arts and Crafts chain. Maybe only here in the Norhteast? They sell balsa and bass wood, paints, foam board and other gamer friendly products. acmoore.com

AC Moore is as to Michaels as Target is to Wal-Mart (or vice versa). Same craft-type stores.

I see your on-line store is up and selling your awesome wooden soldiers. Well played, Sir.

Privateer4hire-
I grok now, thanks. We call them Michael's Art supply here.

Yes, my Wooden Wars store is up and running! I'll be posting on the TMP here very shortly- just finishing up some banners.

Everyone please go check it out!

Will the planes be available? I would love to see some Korean era jets as well.
