Hi all just wondered what what is the best colour to use when painting usmc ww2 have used standard olive green but just can't seem to get the right tone any ideas? thanks

I use Valejo reflective green. It has a good olive green color. However, almost any shade of olive will work, because only brand new uniforms looked the same!

I don't know exactly when they switched over to the camo in 1943(I think), but anyone in theater would probably still have the olive uniform.

I think a little clarification is needed; USMC uniforms or USMC vehicles?

Vallejo Reflective Green is my choice as well for USMC uniforms.

Full camo uniforms for Raiders,Paramarines and 2nd Mar Div @ Tarawa and others for 1943 island slugfests.(No camo at Guadalcanal-1942).Camo helmets 1943-45.Some camo jackets still issued throughout but mostly HBTs 43-45.

The herring-bone twill fatigues often used by the USMC were a sort of blue-green-grey colour.
