They are on the website and available for order. perry-miniatures.com Available in both campaign and full dress. Does anyone know the organization? I am sure that the normal info will be provided by the Perry's in due course but my money is burning a hole in my pocket now!!!

OK the castings and poses are getting better every time and I bet these guys dwarf Perrys' Dutch Belgians or Brunswickers. But Waldeck and Reuss? When we still do not have French Gendarmes d'Elite, 2nd Eclaireurs of the Guard, Mamelukes, Horse Artillery gunners of any nation(actually on horses), "British" ADCs and staff
I could go on
ad infinitum. Monty Python used to say "This is getting too silly". It would take a total anorak/nerd/t
er to tell these from French Line
.although they are wonderful, I do grudgingly admit. Brave commercial decision, I have to say
Perrys do set the standard, no doubt. Westfalia tackles the minority interest, brilliantly though! and for the Prussians
Calpe every time. The rest, for Hobbit figures only. Look great from a scale 100 feet above, on a wargame table, but not for exhibition
..even then Front Rank Reinforcement Packs are beginning to look like humans. We live in interesting times |

I'm afraid that the Perry's historical figures aren't what puts food on their tables, that's GW. So they are free to do whatever catches their fancy rather than what we ever-hungry gamer types feel we need. Perrys do set the standard, no doubt. Calpe every time. The rest, for Hobbit figures only. I would refer you to the work of Paul Hicks. This includes the Westphalia Saxons, the Murawski Poles and most of Brigade Games Napoleonic line. Saxons: link Poles: murawskiminiatures.com Example from Brigade: link I also think you might want to pay some attention to Front Ranks latest work: link I love me some Perry Bros. and Calpe, but I think we should give credit where it's due! |

Good suggestions! Front Rank I did particularly specify as improving in their reinforcement packs. Westfalia castings of Saxons are great and again I did use the word "Brilliantly". Murawski and Brigade you are right of course, I did overlook them, because I am an 1815 obsessional and tend to forget anything happened before 16-18th June that year. No, you are right, there is some great work appearing out there. Do think some manufacturers could update their work to modern standards of anatomy (and agree on what is 28mm!) |
