I am finding a lot of holes when trying to build a German andAmerican Fleet. What miniatures and scale are most people using? Thank you Jon |

I am using panzerschiff and viking forge. Iam about to send an order to WTJ. |

As OJ said above, Panzerschiffe and Viking Forge have some and GHQ might in 1/2400. The British firms have good coverage in 1/3000 but getting them might be harder. |

There is also Molniya miniatures, with their own 1:2400 offerings, which seem intended to "fill in the gaps" in Panzerschiffe's line. molniyafigs.com |

My pre dreads are all Navwar 1/3000, a fairly extensive range. |

I would second WTJ, – they are now doing some beautiful versions in a variety of scales. Navwar has the biggest variety (1/3000), but the WTJ sculpts are way better. |

I'm doing American and German pre-Dreads in both 1:950 scale (Houston's ships (usually advertised as 1:1000 or 1:1200 scale, but measuring closer to 1:950) and scratchbuilt) and 1:6000 scale (Figurehead/Hallmark in metal, Ifridi from Shapeways, and Reber in resin). Between metal, resin, and plastic, most of the ships are now available in 1:6000 scale, but I've had to scratchbuild some of the American ships and most of the German ships in 1:950 scale. |

I might have gone with Houston's scale, but their line is just too spotty. That's WAY too much scratch building for me! I really like those I have, though. It's hard to beat WTJ's new line, with great sculpts and multiple scale options. |

I've been getting the 1:600 line from Old Glory Shipyard/Merrimac. The "Bigs!" |

WTJ is the gold standard for me. GHQ is better in some ways, but the price is a issue. And now you can get the Greek Hydras from WTJ. The only other place you could get them is Navwar 1/3000. |

My vote would be for the Figurehead 1/6000. Inexpensive, surprisingly detailed and you'll get to play using the same ground scale as figure scale. (Example, the max range of the Mikasa is about 7 feet give or take a few inches). |

The only issue with Figurehead are the PCs are so dam small. Jake do you have a link for Ifridi. I could not find it. |
Virtualscratchbuilder | 13 Jan 2014 4:18 p.m. PST |
I do them in 1:700 and 1:600 |
