Some friends of mine from the Quad-cities are coming to the con. I asked them if they were planning on running any games. They said I should post a notice under the Clubs forums on TMP. I also cross posted it to conventions. Hope it generates you some e-mails Legionaire22! |

Can you provide any more information about your convention? I've never heard of it before. How many people attended in 2013? How many games were run? What is the entrance cost? |

In Central Illinois there has been several small to med size gaming conventions that have been held for years. The number of attendees for them range between 100 – 500. What we are doing with FOG Con is take all those smaller local cons and put them all together for one large event. The cost for attendees is, Pre-register is $20. USD for the weekend. Or its $30. USD for the weekend at the door. Single day prices is Friday – $10. USD, Saturday – $15. USD and Sunday – $10. USD. Also if attendees pre-register they get a swag bag of products that have been donated by our sponsors. Each game event costs $1. USD. Some events will cost more like the LARP event and the Magic Tourny. Vendors: If you go to the FOG Con webpage: fansofgaming.net On the left side click on vendor registration form and all the information is there. But here is what we are charging, $50. USD for a 6 x 6 area. with one table and one entrance badge. $100. USD for a 12 x 12 area with two table and two entrance badges. The Avanti's Dome charges a $25. USDoo fee for electrical hookup if needed. Local hotels agreed to provide a 10% discount to FOG Con attendees. The Concorde is offering a 25% discount to FOG Con attendees. Hope I answered your questions? |

Ran The Cid & Pictors Studio, To answer your question, this is our first year for FOG CON. Most of our core group have been involved with running either game days or conventions in the past, and for one reason or another we have decided to band together and run our own con. Support from local gaming groups, clubs and gaming stores has been outstanding. The location we have partnered up with to host FOG CON is a 30,000 square foot indoor sports arena with an additional 2,000 square foot banquet hall. We currently have a contract with them for the next three years and fully expect to extend for many more. As this is our first year for FOG CON we can only estimate on our attendance. From all the positive feedback we have gotten we are estimating our attendance on the low side to be 300-400, and on the high side to be 500-600. Like I said though, once the first one is done then we will have a much better idea of what next year will be like. Hopefully that answered your questions a little bit. Just ask away if you have any more. Jim |
