Happy New Year everyone, I'd like to introduce you to the new British Civil Wars Regimental Wiki, wiki.bcw-project.org/start . This is a self-contained Wiki aiming to gather information and facilitate research on all British and Irish regiments of the English Civil war period, from the First Bishops' War of 1639 to the Restoration in 1660. The site was made by me and Dave Plant of the British Civil Wars Project bcw-project.org . Please have a look around and feel free to register as a user and start adding and editing, and pass the link on to anyone you think might be interested. At present the wiki is still in its early stages (though it's taken us two years to get this far!) so there are many regiments for which we haven't yet input even the most basic data and the vast majority only have ‘skeleton' pages. We're hoping that the wiki will be useful for anyone interested in Military History of the ECW period and that we can gather a little community of contributors. All the best, Tim |
