Huzzah! After their epic voyage all the way from Potsdam, my Prussians have finally arrived in theater :)
The good news is they are indeed fully compatible with the existing Revell Austrians and as I type this, the first battalion (I/ir 41) is painted up ready for the bases to be flocked. One down 17 to go!
The bad news is, I bought so many, painting them all will take forever!

It's wonderful to see these actually exist for sale!!!!! Every retailler I have been to here in Europe that sells Hat says they have not yet released "13". (The release these were to come out in.) Wonderful looking figs! Thanks for the comparison shots. Your paintjobs are excellent, BTW. Looks like the Zevzda Black Hussars will finally have an army to fight with! v/r Tom |

Those are gorgeous! And I really love the HaT MAC concept, it is something that brings 1/72 plastics into league with metal. |

I agree on the MAC concept. My friend Talisman has his out and painted, and they are lovely figures. If we could have some Austrians,I myself would take the plunge,I'm sure. |

I agree with Texas Jack. If 20mm were being done by others in my area, I would jump on these. Luckily we have the choice of Pendraken in 10mm or Minden for larger figures. Blue Moon is coming out with 18mm figures too. I have never understood the anti-20mm stance but I guess it has to do with the old style plastics (which I love by the way). I suppose when we all painted with enamels and had a hard time with those paints sticking to plastic, we had a real reason not to like these. |

Marching, Action, Command – the three formats the figures are packed in. The 'Action' sets have the running about and shooting poses, Marching sets have all marching figures (in this case 20 with shouldered arms and 20 with arms at the support). The Command set has 4 sprues, each having one mounted officer and horse, one officer on foot, one fifer, one drummer, one sergeant and one ensign with flag pike and cords (so you can add your own foil or paper flag). The absolute stroke of genius here is all the figures except the officers have a choice of fusilier helmet, grenadier miter or tricorne hat! I chose the fusiliers for my first regiment as I plan to use the spare tricorns to convert spare Revell Austrian grenadier figures into line infantry. |

Great job! Mine are still on back order from Michigan Toy Soldier Company. What brand paint and color shade did you use for the pants? Everything I have is either too tan or too yellow. |

If any of you are looking some, we stock all HaT 1/72 products. I've even started to paint up my own set. Mark Woodrow's War Store toysoldiers.ca |

What does MAC stand for? I thought it was Mutually Assured Construction! |

For straw and yellow breeches, I used German dark yellow (yes, the WWII Panzer stuff!) as a primer, then dry brushed "linen" (for "straw" color) or light yellow over that. I use the cheap acrylic craft paints from Wal Mart. |

Did you trim the peg that holds the hat? The PSR scans show the tricorne, mitre not a great fit. Yours look excellent BTW. |

Thanks! I had no problems with fit (those fusilier caps are fiddly little s though)and I didn't need to trim anything. The PSR review mentioned a little flash I believe, but out of 9 marching and 6 command boxes the only problem I had was a single bayonet that had not formed properly in the mold. 1 out of 432 figures! |

I hope they have realised that fusilier mitre plates were exactly the same for grenadier mitre plates. A common mistake by model makers and artists. The grenadiers appear taller because of the pom-pom on top. My Prussian Fusiliers of 7YW will be out for the Autumn. Stephen |
