Gentlefolk,

There are two great articles dealing with the Napoleonic Wars and 19th Century in the latest FREE issue of Old Soldiers Magazine.

One deals with the "Battle of Borodino" as history by using the Colombia board wargame of the same name.

It's a terrific article, very detailed and includes OB material, mini-bio's, parade states and an superb historical account of the battle and how it matches up with possible game results. Even if you don't own or contemplate owning the game, the article is more than worth the cost of downloading, which is nothing.

There is also an article by yours truly dealing with the 2nd Mahratta War in India; specifically with the Campaign and Siege of Bhurtpore in 1804-05, which should be of interest to both Napoleonic and 19th Century enthusiasts. It contains detailed background material, narrative and the most detailed Order of Battle ever presented on the topic.

The link is posted here and again it is FREE:

Please, please, please, no "Nappy" slang. I already feel bad enough playing with toy soldiers, if they are now called "Nappy" I will have to truly quit playing with toy soldiers! :-)
