I just redid this project, so I could WIP it for a space opera game we're publishing (hopefully in a week or so), but though it might be fun to share. In our supplements, we provide templates for the things you need to play (other than dice, rules and basic minis (… and, like a table, air, etc.)). In this case, one of the potential enemies in the list is a horde of relatively weak monsters – the Shadow Horde. So instead of requiring people to have a large number of minis for a couple scenarios in a campaign, we put in instructions on how to make your own.

This is a pretty simple and quick project, but a lot of fun and it yields a decent result. Generic shadow figures are also useful for hidden forces, destructible figures, and other cool tabletop effects.

And it all starts here …

Hmmmm… I'll experiment that. Thank you :)

In a recent game I had a NPC sorceress appear as a wisp of smoke (actually a piece of white cotton), which was replaced with the metal miniature of the sorceress when "she wanted". (when she was in smokey form she was very difficult to shoot at, or to hit).

Thanks and glad it will be useful. It's not the most earth shattering idea, but it works well for what it is.
