they look intimidating! I particularly like how you painted the grey horses, and that grass is awesome!
Thanks for sharing

Greys are my thing. This certain woman rides past my door every day, looking very superior, the way horse riders do, on a horse that is just beautiful. I took some photos and use them for my greys. I also met her once before, when she was anaesthetised, and, thank God, the surgery worked…great result….but she does not remember…I do…she is "important" around here!

Beautiful! How did you do the grass?

Yes, lovely work, especially the Grey horses.

Thanks for the feedback! West Ham beaten 5-0, never mind.

Funny thing is that I hate doing greys. They take ages, if they are not to look like rocking horses or toys. There is little grey in a grey! White, dry brushed over the flanks etc with a very dark grey. Dappled with light grey and toothpick, but then layer after layer of very thin white to tone it all done. The lead grey is much the better of the two.

The grass? Took me ages and not sure it worked in the end. I often spend more time on the bases than the figures. It is a wheatfield in HO scale, so far too small for 28mm scale. Brilliant for 18mm though! You get a box with several sprues each containing row upon row of what look like combs; the stalks growing from a strip base. Stick all the bases together and, for a smaller scale, brilliant. Not cheap you get 10x10cms I think I recall for about ten quid!

This link should show you what I mean. Totally wrong colour for June in Belgium as well!
