Hi Guys Continuing on with my ACW units in 28mm for 'LONGSTREET' I thought I'd share some photos on another unit that was baptised with fire at 1st Bull Run. The 11th New York Infantry Regiment is another very colourful Regiment and like many of the early war Regiments looks and sounds more like a Social Club rather than a Infantry Regiment. Drawn from the ranks of the city's many volunteer fire companies, the unit was known alternately as the Ellsworth Zouaves, First Fire Zouaves, First Regiment New York Zouaves, and U.S. National Guards! I used the very tasty PERRY MINIATURES codes ACW57 and 58. Flags are from FLAGS OF WAR. You can see all the eye candy and read a little about the 11th NYFZ here: link [URL=http://s293.photobucket.com/user/trailape/media/photo2_zpsf7209b0a.jpg.html]

Very athletic and full of vim an vigor. Lovely job, a couple of questions the base size is that 50 x 50? And size wise are the perry's metals similar in size to their old sculptures for Foundry miniatures? ( Their older plastic range are real bold 28mm, the horses being giants next to the Foundry ones) |

Hi Zargon Bases are 40mm Squares. I place either 3, 4 or 5 figures per base simply so I have a more 'lax' look to them than say a Napoleonic battalion. I get most of my inspiration from Artists like Don Troiani. Perry Miniatures are slightly larger than FOUNDRY (and considerably less expensive). I consider them to be superior to their earlier Foundry stuff, (not surprisingly so). The PERRY metals and Plastics are the same size. Cheers Scott |

Thanks for the info trailape, appreciate it, and your guy look like they mean business, and what you've said about the Perry's are spot on. I think its time to re-base and build a few more units 8-D |
