That's a great looking fort! A coffee cup lid you say? So while it looks like a fort and I'd be happy to see it in any game I played, how historically accurate is it? (ie Were there round forts like that?) |

Henry VIII was building round artillery castles along the coast of England in the 1500s so its possible someone else was building similar structures elsewhere in the word in the 18th and 19th century I guess :) |

Plenty of examples of round forts in the new world. The original fort that guarded Cartagena de Indias, San Felipe del Boquron was a round tower. A later round construction, not unlike the model still exists there, the Castelo de San Fernando guarding the Bocachica channel. Similar simple round forts were built in Brazil in the 16th C and one of the most famous, Forte São Marcelo in Salvador still exists. Famously described by Jorge Amado as ' o umbigo do mundo', the navel of the world. I used to live nearby.

What scale were/are the old galleons by
Airfix? Would they work with the PP models? If not are there any other models that would? Thinking a bit more variety would be nice |

I think they are more 1/300 ish so a bit too big. I'm hoping Martin will, one day, bring out a few new models for this range. A schooner and a galley at least would open up all sorts of new possibilities |

Wonderful and imaginative. Save some coffee grounds and mix with the sand for texture : – ) |
