I've fancied doing the battle of Amiens for some time. It was an amazing battle if you study it closely. Did a staff ride there a few years back.

Sounds good to me, have been wanting to get into the Great War for a while, just wonder how good FoW in the trenches will work.

The FoW rules work well for WW1 I think… especially since it is mostly infantry waves… they covered that very well with the EW Soviet & Polish btns.

You will still need a heck of a lot of figures to play though if you keep the scaling the same. I based my WW1 figs on FoW bases with 4-5 guys on each base and wow…. you need a LOT of figs for an EW army…

I still prefer this to using chits and doing grand scale… you might as well be playing a board game. I really struggle wiht this in all of my games… especially since I am a big Napoleonics player.

That sounds a good challenging game lasalle012. If you just play a prelim bombardment then mass assault over trenches then it would make for a boring game. But if you have tank terror, gas assaults, big mines going off and such like it would make for a more interesting game and I suspect be more do-able. it will be fascinating to see what they come up with.
