I have recently finished a review of the new hard plastic Tabletop Workshop medieval chapel and cottage. In the review you can find pictures of all the parts, some information on the modular approach and a scale comparison between both buildings and resin building from another company. Interested in these modular hard plastic buildings and see the quality and detail of these pieces, take a look here: link

Very nice review – £20.00 GBP / £22.00 GBP seems a bit pricey to me though. Probably not as eye watering as a GW version of these buildings would be – but I'd have thought £15.00 GBP was nearer the mark

They are nice but they seem really over priced. Nearly $33 USD for 6-7 pieces of unpainted plastic? Is that really normal? |

Really well done review with excellent quality pictures. The assembly of the buildings looks quite clever. Looks like they'd be easy to assemble and pack away. Unfortunately I'm with those who balk at the price. They're almost as expensive as GW, and GW kits have lots of neat options and bits for customizing. |

Compared with plastic model railway buildings, that is more than a fair price. Especially so given the size of the building. |

Hi Guys, thanks for the comments. Regarding the price, I think the price was set at that level as the initial cost of plastic moulding is high and as the company is new in retailling these products and they don't have the vast consumer base as GW. Regarding all the neat option and bits from GW, I certainly agree as those are my favorite bits in those boxed kits but was wondering if GW is still selling their fantasty houses/ manor as I can't find them on their website. Next to that these buildings are more orientated to the historical wargamer if I'm not mistaken so all those fantasy details are left away and the buildings represent "historical correct" medieval houses. You may also be interested in the upcoming plastic castle kit which is extremely well-priced especially with the preo-order scheme and the stretch goals. You can find more information here: link Kind regards |

I've pre-ordered the basic castle and really hope the cladding kits do get released. Who needs to pay the mortgage? |

More sales equals quicker return on investment. A "any 3 for GBP50 post free" would garner a lot of sales especially the holiday season as that is a nice "hint-hint" gift to your better alf. Think about this, then you can also treat her to a bit o property as well, and there you go a great present for you and her and a nice little village for the table 8-D |

Hi, Thanks for the comments. To avoid confusion, I'm not part of Tabletop Workshop so don't know their business model so it was just a possible idea I noted above. But I think their castle pre-order includes the possibility for cheaper houses. The buildings as noted by you, Eric are not modular and don't have interior space and detail. But as you say they are great value for their money. @Dozing Dragon, the castle looks great and I also hope the cladding kits will be achieved. Kind regards |
